Dusting Off an Old Idea
April 1, 2026
Hi!
Last week I spoke at a local women's group. My topic was 'how pivotal moments herald new beginnings'.
I've been writing about the Essence Map for years - almost two decades. There have been eBooks, drafts of books, blog posts, podcast episodes. But I've never really made any headway. Mostly because of self-doubt.
You can live with something for so long that it loses any mystery. I assumed that everyone knew this stuff. Apparently, that wasn't the case. Several women came over afterwards and said how much my talk had resonated. Today, another attendee told me it had been inspirational.
These are words that I hear all the time when people talk about my husband, Chris. To hear someone use the same words about something I've done has stopped me in my tracks.
Another lady asked if I had any flyers. Er, no! And, had I written a book? Hmmm. Long story!
I've always believed that the Essence Map was important. A road map to guide people through life's tough times. I whisper the word essence because, to me, it's massively woo woo. It's all about soul, Source, and the spiritual, and how we could change the world.
It's not a complicated premise. Just living our best life, doing what makes us happy and brings us joy. Simple stuff. It's just the doing of it is not so simple.
I've dusted off all my old ideas, notes, part written versions. Let's see where this journey takes me.
Thanks for reading ...
Nicola
